Syndicated gambling in New York State : a report of the New York State Commission of Investigation

Abstract

"The report is designed to smash the false conception of the professional gambler and his activities by shedding light on the real nature of organized crime and its chief product today, professional gambling. The report is intended to serve as a reminder that the passage of new and stricter laws, while commendable, is not enough. Only a complete revitalization of our approach to the enforcement of our gambling laws will be effective."
