Abstract

The intention of this artist statement is to demonstrate proficiency in scenic, lighting and projection design for the theatre. These design elements were created for a production of Metamorphoses written by Mary Zimmerman and directed by Haysam Kadri, presented in the Reeve Theatre at the University of Calgary from November 24 – December 3, 2017. The following essay is an outline of my process from preliminary design concepts to the fully realized production through research and consecutive readings of the play.
