Review of CRP Governance to Support Regional Water and Wastewater Servicing

Abstract

The Calgary Metropolitan Plan (CMP) identifies the important role regional water and wastewater infrastructure and servicing systems will have in enabling the Calgary Region to achieve the right balance among protecting the regional environment, providing efficient and effective delivery of municipal services, and enhancing regional prosperity. To move forward with regional servicing, consistent with the CMP, it was recognized that a critical first step was the development of a governance structure that supports implementation and allows the Calary Regional Partnership (CRP) and its members to address a wide array of implementation questions and issues. To this end, the CRP engaged Grant Thornton to assist it in developing a governance structure that will support implementation of regional water and wastewater servicing.
