Abstract

In this presentation Dr. Sarah Elaine Eaton (University of Calgary, Canada) provides an overview of what academic impoverishment, demonstrating the limited available of scholarly and practical resources on this topic globally. Eaton proposes a plain language definition of academic impoverishment, noting that it is not to be confused with academic impropriety or academic misconduct. To conclude, Eaton emphasizes Academic impoverishment is a result of failure at the educational system level, not the individual student level.
