dc.description.abstractThe Louisiana Compulsive Gambling Study Committee was created by Senate Resolution #149, introduced by Senator Jay Dardenne in the 1995 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature. Its charge was to study: the problem of compulsive gambling; the best practice approaches to preventing and addressing the problem of compulsive gambling; the most effective, responsible, and equitable way to support the infrastructure necessary to prevent the problem; and, the steps that should be taken by the legislature to accomplish the establishment of the recommended infrastructure.eng
