dc.description.abstract | Online learning has emerged over the past decade as one solution to the problem of bridging the gap between research and practice in the addictions and mental health fields. However, the relative newness of this medium points to a need for a better understanding of the issues and best practices in instructional applications, particularly in clinical content areas. This article summarizes the key characteristics of, and issues relating to, computer-mediated communication (CMC). Barriers to effective CMC for online instructors and learners are discussed, along with a summary of current "best practices" in online teaching and learning. | eng |
