Abstract

The demand of technological services has developed an increase in energy consumption to operate large numbers of servers in data centers. Thereby, the workload of these equipments represents an economic cost and use of natural resources. This concern gives place to a new technology trend known as: Green IT, Its goal is to balance the triple bottom line: environmental, social and economical. This research emphasizes: the benefits of Green Information Technology, analyzes Energy Consumption of Servers and Data Centers, associated Environmental Impacts, existing Regulations and analyzes the Energy Consumption in two scenarios
