Abstract

This report contains a detailed description of a simulation model of the ring-polling software on Edinburgh University's Cambridge Ring Local Area Network. The model is written in Demos, a Simula-hosted simulation language. The model faithfully reproduces the structure and timings of the current IMP implementation (August 81). A full listing of the model is given as an appendix.
