Abstract

In this workshop, English teachers from the Araucanía Region, Chile, will discuss GenAI and how it has impacted the educational landscape worldwide in the last months. These teachers will also explore ChatGPT's capabilities and limitations and participate in a Turing test to distinguish AI and human-generated text. Since an understanding of the ethical use of GenAI is still expanding, participants will also analyze some emerging recommendations from the literature to use GenAI for ethical teaching and learning in the English Language Classroom. At the end of the workshop, the English teachers in the workshop will prompt ChatGPT and explore some ethical ways to use it to help their teaching.
