Abstract

This paper is divided into three chapters. The first two chapters focus on white collar workers’ identity, or rather non-identity, introduce critical issues regarding homogenized places and standardized dress codes that link a subject’s identity to their job, and how an individual’s identity is harmed by this. The third chapter outlines how this research was translated into materials, my perception of these materials, and the categories used. Data collection methods and how they contributed to the experiments are illustrated. In conclusion, the work invites the audience to consider how manipulated identities may affect society and rethink ideas of freedom, materialism, and a culture of grandiosity.
