Mega-Widgets in Tcl/Tk Evaluation and Analysis

Abstract

This paper proposes a framework for evaluating Tk mega-widget extensions. This framework addresses how these extensions perform both from the user's view of created widgets as well as from the viewpoint of the mega-widget builder. Issues addressed include support for building Tk-like widgets, access to component widgets, and reuse of previous widget implementations. Several existing mega-widget extensions are then evaluated using the framework.
