Spaces and Interspaces: A Dialogue to Support a Culture of Learning

Abstract

Creating safe spaces, within and beyond the classroom, supports and encourages students to take risks, challenge their thinking, and reconsider some positions and is important in fostering a culture of learning valuing independence, self-determination, intellectual integrity, thought, commitment, and acceptance. A culture of space recognizes diversity in the learning process.
