The two main purposes of this paper are: (1) to document the history of my own philosophical thinking about fear ('fear') and fearlessness in regards to existential philosophy.... (2) to lay the groundwork for a genealogy of Fear Management System-5 (and its later re-emergence in FMS-6b).
